Luckily, I once more got the chance to attend CHI (http://chi2016.acm.org), which took place in San Jose this year. Together with friends and colleagues, IĀ traveled to Yosemite, Sequoia and San Francisco before the conference started.

We spent three full days in Yosemite and hiked more than we thought we would. On the first day, we took the trailĀ up to the Upper Yosemite Falls – beautiful, even through hail and rain.

The next day, we drove to Glacier Point and hiked towards the Nevada falls. One mile before actually reaching the falls, we turned because we did not want to walk back in darkness.

After missing the Nevada falls on the second day, we hiked there from the valley via the Mist trail and Vernal fall on the third day.

In the evening, we had a barbecue at the river in the valley, right beneath El Capitan.

The following day, we left Yosemite and moved on to see the giant Sequoia trees in the Giant Forest.

After spending two days in the Sequoia park, we drove all the way back to San Francisco where we returned the car and spent the last two days before the conference started.

The conference in San Jose was exciting and there was not much time to explore the city. At least, we made it to Five Guys.
